Thks to all of you. We here in Ontario waited 2 years for the Ontario rep from the MCCI to post some sort of a mini meet, lunch, BBQ or what ever. I even gave him 4 notifications, and dates of locations that were looking for clubs to bring some cars to show to the general public. No such luck. He can be the mcci rep, but thats like a hockey coach who has NO team. He has sat on his f@% A&%. So sad, too bad. We here in Ontario have our own MAV/COMET club, with families who want to do things.:thumbsup: |

Don,t worry Dave. You were once before about 9- 10 years ago, the MCCI rep and failed miserably then too. Thats why people like Shawn Simpson,aka president, your good buddy, Craig Selvy, and MANY other prominant MCCI reps encouraged me to be the Ontario rep. This position I accepted in the fall of 2004.This all started with my attendance in IA at OLD CASTLE for the Round-up. You have posted :we had get togethers in London: Who are WE. YOU and your body man. We shouldn,t forget your all original 73 grabber either. Too bad it has the wrong hood for a 73, therefore the car is not all original. What about all the other replaced body parts. At least my car has all the factory installed fenders, 1/4 panels,bumpers, number matching engine, trans and rear. You can fool some of the people, but u cant fool all of them. There are far TOO many mcci members either past or present who could back up this info. When I was the Ontario rep, this was taken from me with NO notification either by phone, mail, tex mess, e-mail or carrier pigion. I guess no 1 had the b$%*@ to contact me. You probably will only work with the small few who reside close to London and forget about the vast area in ONTARIO where other maverick/comet lovers reside. Enough said. Pretty simple: You were replaced as MCCI Ontario State Rep when you didn't rejoin the MCCI. Being a rep of the MCCI, or any club for that matter, is more than just hosting events. From an MCCI standpoint, the volunteer efforts of all the State Reps is appreciated. |

for shit sake! cant everyone just drop this crap and move on?!.... it's been more than long enough hasn't it? the entertainment value of all this back and forth has severly waned to the point that its beyond toxic. we all get it,.... many of you will never like each other,or the other clubs,or some of the members; and I'm sure a good many of you dont like me either, but give it a rest! Chris you said what I was thinking, only more colorfully. I'd rather not see this stuff rehashed again, as it only makes clubs look bad. Tone it down gentlemen. Having a meet isn't about being in a club, it's about sharing a common interest and being friendly. That has more to do with certain people not inviting certain other people to meets than anything else. I couldn't care less about being in a club. I just like hanging with some great people I've met through the common interest of liking Mavericks. |

Um David.............. as i was always lead to believe, the mcci was an open arms car club and as such when you held an event ANYONE with a Maverick or Comet was welcome to attend. Has this policy changed, if that is the case than this should be stated on the mcci website that if your not a member than you will not be invited or will not be welcomed to attend an event or mini meet. I looked on the mcci website for the info on this new ruling and could not find it. I may have over looked it I hope your not speaking for all of the mcci membership. Well. Dave you are the BSer.You just blow smoke all the time. When your green car was picked best in show at a round-up , you posted it as "original 73 grabber". You posted having get togethers near london. When people attend a function involving the Mav/Comet community, the people post pics and comments, about that function. that applies to the MCCI round-up, MCG gathering, The DIXIE MAVERICKS,or anyone. You and the small minority didnt. Why. NO PROOF> AT the 2nd OWENSBORO Round-up the MCCI executive said to over 100 attending members and I QUOTE" if you don,t like it ,go some where else. Thats why the MCG got started.Craig also said no way would the Round-up go too Ontario. What about Shawn stating, As a mcci rep, you don,t have too do anything.Also at Owensboro. I Have heard the executive say" we will do what we want and not the majoritys wishes. A club is only as good as the members involvement. The mcci member count,plus car count have decreased alot.Why???? The people who used to post regulary back 3-4 yrs ago have disappeared. Possibly tired of the MCCI attitude of its president,secretary,administrators. My way or the highway attude.Doesnt work that way in a club.I could list at least a dozen people who stay away. We have ALL moved on, why can't you? You are entitled to your opinion. You are not entitled to your version of the facts. Fact: And I will say it again: No Roundup ever in Ontatio. I ain't scared to say that. Lets see how soon any other club or group holds a National show in Ontario. Fact: MCCI membership has increased as well as the car count....and people count at the shows. I know, because I was actualy there. I will tell you what people are tired of, and has been well stated above by others, it is the constant bringing up of the past when everyone else has moved on. "David" Who calls me "David" other than my mother or the police...Are you trying to be smart, or condescending? As for not being invited, if you aren't in a club, and I don't have contact info for you...well I'm not a psychic...and I doubt you'd come anyways.. Next time I have people over, I'll be sure to whip out the camera so I can get that much needed self gratification, that some people crave, but I could care less about, maybe I'll have them sign affidavits!! Oh, and to clear the cloudy air around my car..it is a 1 owner California car, with all the original body panels, (and yes the same fenders it was born with) other than a small patch in the passenger side quarter panel ,which if you've ever seen my car in person, you can clearly see, from inside the trunk) and of course the "Famous" Grabber hood (that I bought in the late 80's) The car has been lowered, has a AOD, and 3:55.1 rear gears, which it has had since I built it. As for being all Original, I've never said that, hell..when I won "best of show" it was in the "Semi-Modified" class... As for the MCCI, it is what "you" make it, if you want to run around and bad mouth people, go ahead, but we all have a good time when we are together, and that all that matters. If you are a member, and you don't like it, we'll gladly refund your membership dues. As for the rest of all this, to me it's just "sour grapes" and people need to grow a pair and move on. Another point, just so all the experts know, when I stopped being in the MCCI in the 90's, it was shortly after my father in law was murdered, and I ended up taking custody of my wife's younger brother and sister, so in turn all my hobbies were put on hold, for a couple of years, there are other things in life, than worrying about what other people are doing... |
