Over the years i have taken pictures of Mavericks and Comets when i see them and have had my camera handy. I figure that all these cars whether they are still around or in the bone yard or have been scraped should have their moment in the spotlight so i will post the pictures as i find them and scan them, after all what else am i going to do with these pictures. Feel free to add your own no matter where the cars are or were. Maverick in Milton Ontario March 1995 by a Knohnert tanker. On my way to look at and buy a Grabber hood in Chatam Ontario on Aug 27, 2005 i see this Maverick cruising down the road driven by this old guy doing well below the speed limit.I'll post more as i find them. |

Here's Grahams Maverick before it was painted a few years back, still in grey primer at the Waterdown car show and swap meet.  And a few years later (last year) at the 4th Annual NRMCC Meet and Greet in Milton, Ontario.   I love a nice paint job.:thumbsup: |

Here are some pictures from a Sept 2 2009 Wednesday cruise night in Mississauga. The guy who owns this Maverick is called Earl, what caught my eye was his '71 to '73 Mustang taillights, sorta a Brazilian thing.    Since these pictures were taken he has painted his Maverick, so when i get a chance i will take some more pictures of it with it's new paint job and post them to show the difference. |

This here is the first Comet that i ever saw in my life and the first Comet that i ever sat in also. It's my Mom's very first car that she bought way back in 1978ish right after getting her drivers licence. All i remember is always having to wait for the bus with my Mom when i was a kid and hating it. If it was raining or snowing at the bus stop it was even worse and even in the summer waiting for the bus being bored out of my mind. One day when we were going to go somewhere my Mom told me to go to the back of our building and wait for her which i thought was strange as we had to be at someones house. This car pulls up to the back of the building and lo and behold it's my Mom driving, hell i didn't even know she had her licence let alone that she had bought a car. I remember getting into this car and sitting in the front seat and off we went. Yippie no dumb bus or bus stop to wait at. I remember sitting in the front seat and looking at the dash and seeing the Comet logo and thinking wow this is a cool car and at that moment falling in love with this little car, this Comet. The bus stops were now a thing of the past. :thumbsup: All these years later i still love Comets (and Mavericks too) because of that 1974 Comet that was my Moms first car. The sad thing is that the smashed up picture of that old Comet is the only picture of that car that we have today. And no my dear old Mom did not smash up the car. Some moron in a moving truck backed up into it and smashed up the front end (while she was at work) before driving away. The funny thing is that because the Comet did get squashed that is the only reason that there is a picture of that car as my family never were ones to take pictures of their cars. If it never did get touched then there would be no picture of it. |

| Didn't get a picture, but on the way back from Texas yesterday, we stopped at the McDonalds near Vinita, OK that spans I-44. After I parked, Marion says to me: "Isn't that a Maverick?" I look up and see a car transporter pulling through and the front car on the bottom was a (blue I think) Stallion with very faded paint. By the time I could have had my camera ready he was already out of range. Pretty cool. | |||

Spotted 2 Mavericks today one at the local WalMart. Joshua saw the car last week and called to tell me. They spotted a blue one kast week. And today we spotted another in a back yard along with a early 70s Mach 1. Sorry I cant get the pictures to upload. |

 This picture is from March 27, 2011 and is a Maverick that i have seen for a few years either at the shows or as you can see in his driveway. About 2 summers ago the owner approached me (knowing that i love Mavericks and Comets) and mentioned that he wanted to sell the Maverick but he could not get as much for it as he would get if he traded it in (for scrap) on a new car. I told him that it would be sad to see it get scrapped even if he did get more on the retire your ride program towards a new car. He said his wife was upset at the idea that her Maverick would get crushed after the trade in, maybe she changed his mind as the car is still in their driveway.I guess i'll find out what changed his mind when i see him at the cruise nights. |

If you have a random Maverick picture it needs to be here on the official Random Maverick Comet thread ( yeah sure). Ask Matt how to do it , he's good at that stuff..........or if i was you i would download it to my computer, shrink it if need be. The size of the picture may be to big. I think anything over 1 MB is too large and needs to be shrunk. Anyway maybe try that. :thumbsup: |

O.K. i'm not really to sure if i have posted these pictures on this board before or the other board. Since i no longer post anything on the other board i will post these pictures here. If i have indeed posted them here before........... oooops . As i get older my memory goes South.    These pictures are from July 17, 2008. I was cruising alone the Lakeshore in Port Credit Mississauga and i saw this Maverick sitting in a garages parking lot. The front was sitting up a bit so it looked like the motor was missing. I have never seen this Maverick again and i was hoping to see it at the car shows or our Maverick / Comet Meet and Greets but no such luck. |

There are not too many dash plaques out there with Mavericks or Comets on them (except for the ones i make yearly) but here is one i got at a swap meet in a pile of old swap meet and car show dash plaques. I guess this guy makes them and these were his left overs or misprints. Take a look:  I have to admit i wonder why he chose to put a Maverick on this dash plaque. I can image all the Mustang and Camaro and Vette guys putting up their noses at the image of a Maverick on their dash plaque that they got from this car show. |

Here's a picture of a picture i stole from Old Autos newspaper of a Comet that was at a car show last year in Regina. The Comet actually didn't make it into the car show which was indoor but was parked in the parking lot. Next time you go to a indoor car show take a look in the parking lot as you never know just what you might see.

Old Autos up here does a lot of stories on all the shows in Canada and if they like a car or it is different they tend to put a picture in their newspaper of it. Old Autos really don't like pictures of a classic car if the hood is up and in general won't print it. I guess it was a good thing that the hood on that Comet was down eh. |
