I don't recall hearing anything about this, but I just read it on the NHRA site: "Also just got word that former Funny Car driver Danny Miller died Sept. 25 after a long illness. Miller began racing in Funny Car in the late 1960s, first in an ex-Ramchargers Dart and through the early 1970s with his own line of Plastic Fantastic entries. He later founded Danny Millers Rear Gears, specializing in 9-inch Fords, and not long ago began competing on the nostalgia Funny Car circuit with his Rear Gears Maverick." |

I was at his shop right at a year ago. He said he had been battling cancer and was taking things slow. I hardly recognized him. He said the Maverick funny car was parked for the whole season and was up for sale. RIP Danny |
