A funny thing happened to my son and i on Saturday May 26th on our way to the Waterdown swap meet. First it all started on the Friday. My high school buddy George calls me up Friday after work and wants to know if i would like to go to downtown Toronto to see the cars that are in the Gumball Rally. He said that they were parked downtown for all to see. Honestly all i wanted to do was stay home on Friday, have my supper and change the wheels on the Comet to my chromies. I must be getting old and i'm not really into the high end cars so home seemed so much better. On Saturday here was my son William and myself in the ol' Comet on the on ramp to the 401 from Winston Churchill. All of a sudden William points out a row of cars fully stickered with the Gumball 3000 logo's on the doors and hoods.  William wanted to know about these cars and who they were. I explained to him that it was a cross country race for the rich that (more or less) started in 1971. There was a bright green Nissan GT-R, three Lamborghini Gallardo's and a Cadillac CTS sport wagon done to the hilt. None of the cars were speeding as i kept up with them for about 15 minutes in my mighty straight 6 before an O.P.P. police car pulled over one of the Lamborghini's. My guess is he wanted to check out the car. I did get a thumbs up from the passenger in the Lamborghini and from the driver of the Caddy too. Sorta funny that they would even notice my Comet as i'm sure the boys driving those cars could afford a Comet or two.:p I am glad the cop in the O.P.P. cruiser didn't see my car and was blinded by the sight of the Lambo.:clap: Either way i will always tell the tail about my Comet being in the Gumball 3000 Rally. Now where is that Burt Reynolds and Captain Chaos?

| Yes it was fun, i just wish i had the camera at the ready. It was in it's case on the floor behind my seat. I figured it was a bit dangerous trying to reach it while driving.............. so no really cool picture. | |||
